This Saturday, we will be tasting Butterfield Chardonnay 2011, Sottano Reserva Blend 2011, Benziger Tribute 2011 and a new producer for us, Delas Muscat Beaumes de Venise 2012.
This is actually a very well rounded line of wines to sample.
A great entry level Burgundy Chardonnay from David Butterfield, this is an excellent wine to serve at a cocktail party or the dinner table. It is a very robust, full-bodied Chardonnay that can appeal to those who prefer California wines.
The Sottano Reserva is a Malbec blend that would be a welcome wine at the dinner table. Pair it with a veal osso bucco or standing rib roast. We can assure you that your guests will not complain!
The Benziger Tribute is our top wine of the day and is something that we do not regularly open. A Bordeaux blend, dominated by Cabernet, Tribute is one Benziger’s flagship wines. The wine is grown biodynamically and is one of the first wines to be certified biodynamic in the U.S. Feel free to crack this bad boy now or hold it your cellar for another 10 years.
New to Discovery Wines is Delas, a producer from the Rhone Valley. We now carry three of their wines; a Cote du Rhône, Châteauneuf du Pape and Muscat Beaumes de Venise. The Muscat is a dessert wine that hails from Southern Rhône, in the Beaumes de Venise region, located just south of Gigondas. This is an aromatic wine that would be a fine addition to the end of your meal, especially if your dessert is a light fruit tart.
We look forward to seeing you this week at our Warehouse to try all these wines, because it is always great to try before you buy. All of the wines we will be tasting this week will be 10% off for quantities under 12 bottles. All purchases of 12 or more bottles of these featured wines will receive a 15% discount! This case discount also applies to any of the wines in our Christmas Case. Don’t wait until the last minute to do the rest of your Christmas shopping, take care of the most important things first…your wine!
