Chateau Gloria 2017

Gloria is among the most emblematic unclassified Cru Médoc properties on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region. The unique creation of Henri Martin, the singularity of Château Gloria lies in its vineyard: 50 hectares made up of parcels acquired exclusively from Grands Crus Classés of 1855. Château Gloria brings together the greatest terroirs of Saint Julien.

Grape Varietals: 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot

Wine Region: Saint Julien, Bordeaux, France.

Tasting Note - The 2017 Gloria is medium to deep garnet-purple in color with a nose of warm blackcurrants, baked blackberries and plums with cedar, earth and herbs hints. The palate is medium-bodied, juicy, soft and easy-breezy. It was aged for 14 months in French oak, 40% new. About 65% of the production was produced as grand vin. Dense color, good smoky cassis nose, depth and clarity of fruit, still green but good depth and class.  After 90 minutes in the decanter it will be singing nicely alongside a nice ribeye!
