Chakana Nuna Estate Organic Malbec is made from fruit sourced only from Chakana’s own organic certified estate vineyards at Finca Cobos in Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo.
The grapes for the Chakana Nuna Estate Organic Malbec are from vineyards with mainly loam soils, with some sand and gravels, located at an altitude of 960m. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a 48 hour cold-soaking prior to fermentation. There is also 100% malolactic fermentation and the wine is aged in a combination of oak barrels and concrete vats for 8 months prior to bottling.
The Chakana or Inca Cross is a stepped cross representing the four cardinal points of the compass and the Southern Cross constellation which ruled the Incan agricultural calendar.
Nose: Dried plum and other dark fruits, exotic spices, with hints of violet and chocolate.
Palate: Bold dark Plum, lovely violet notes, and raspberry and cocoa.
Finish: Bold depth of flavours long fruity finish!
