Chateau Haut Mazeris (Fronsac) 2003 (1.5L)

Fronsac is a little-known viticultural area close to two famous ones, St.-Emilion and Pomerol, about 20 miles east of the city of Bordeaux. Fronsac is the Bordeaux appellation that’s emerging from the shadow of its better-known neighbors. Chateau Haut Mazeris Fronsac is worth sampling, just to experience the Fronsac style.

Grape Varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc

Region: Bordeaux, France

Tasting Notes: The 2003 Haut-Mazeris Fronsac is a broad, sensual, medium-bodied, dark plum/ruby-colored, beautifully made effort that is ready for current consumption. With a nice lushness as well as low acidity.

Food Pairing: Game Stew
