Brown Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Cabernet Sauvignon was the second varietal to appear under the Brown Estate label. Following four vintages of strictly Zinfandel production they began bottling their estate Cab Sauv with the 2000 vintage. This wine is produced from two vineyards blocks on the east side of the property. Their hillside Terraces Block at elevation 1300 feet struggles to yield a few tons of sparsely clustered tiny berries with inky intensity but the Far East Block is surrounded by oak trees in a protected amphitheater, grows robustly and with minimal intervention. Between the two we have a comprehensive expression of Napa Valley hillside Cabernet Sauvignon the Brown way.
