Founded in 1832 by the Castarède family, the eponymous Armagnac distillery is the first trading company of France declared in Armagnac. Established in the area for six generations (first Lavardac, then Mauléon-d’Armagnac later Bas Armagnac), Castarède has developed since 1832 16 hectares of vines comprising 3 white grape varieties: Ugni-Blanc, Folle Blanche and Colombard.

A golden, old copper color. A pleasant, non-aggressive nose of rancio and citrus fruit. On the palate, a gentle but virile attack, with good rancio on the finish and good length. Well-balanced and powerful, a "man's" armagnac.
