Jim Barry 'The Armagh' Shiraz 2014
Founded in 1959, the Jim Barry family winery helped define the modern identity of the Clare Valley. With deep roots in this historic region, the Barrys have long pursued a vision of crafting powerful yet elegant Shiraz that speaks of site and season. “The Armagh” is the pinnacle of their work—sourced from a single vineyard first planted in 1968 and now recognised among Australia’s most iconic red wines.
Grape Varietals: 100% Shiraz
Wine Region: Clare Valley, South Australia
Tasting Notes: Deep crimson-purple in the glass, revealing aromas of blackberry, plum compote, licorice, mocha and subtle cedar spice. The palate is rich and powerful, layered with dark berry fruit, graphite and cocoa, framed by fine, chalky tannins. Impeccably balanced, it finishes long and pure with lingering notes of espresso and black pepper.
Food Pairing: Grilled Wagyu ribeye, venison with juniper jus, or aged cheddar.
