Larkmead Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

The historic Larkmead estate is one of the oldest family-owned establishments in Napa Valley. Originally founded in 1895, Larkmead is celebrating is 127th anniversary in 2022. The historic Larkmead Estate is composed of 110 acres planted to Bordeaux varietes. Larkmead is 100% estate fruit; it is therefore imperative that the land is treated as an ecosystem with all factors interrelated and focus on long term soil health. Promoting the natural expression of their vineyards, resulting in wines that are unique in their purity, texture and complexity.

The 2017 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is one of Larkmead's favorite bottling to date. 

Grape: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Merlot

Region: Napa Valley, California

Nose: Aromas of purple flowers, red cherries, cedar, warm gravel and graphite fill the glass. With time, the nose on this wine continues to evolve, revealing plum, leather and tobacco accents.  

Palate: The palate is youthful and vibrant, balancing on the lighter side of blue and black fruits and berries. The wine is in constant motion, playfully dancing across the palate until it dissolves into dusty, fine tannins. A second sip introduces you to cherry candy and wet rock minerality.
