Taylor's 50 Year Old Tawny 'Golden Age'

Taylor’s, founded in 1692, stands among the great houses of the Douro and has built its reputation on extraordinary aged tawnies and vintage ports. ⒬œGolden Age⒬� is their rare 50-year-old tawny release ⒬” a field blend matured half a century in hand-selected oak casks, drawn from premium parcels in the eastern Douro Valley and bottled to celebrate the apex of maturity, balance and finesse.

Grape Varietals: Traditional Douro field blend (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Cão, etc.)

Wine Region: Douro Valley, Portugal

Tasting Notes: Chestnut-amber core with a golden rim. The nose reveals dried apricot, fig, rum raisin, toasted almond, clove and a hint of black pepper. On the palate the depth unfolds into quince, prune, caramelised orange peel, toasted coconut and butterscotch, underpinned by bright acidity and a finish that lingers long and elegant.

Food Pairing: Fine aged cheese (like 30-month Parmigiano), dark chocolate with sea salt, or a petit-fours dessert plate. Excellent as a contemplative after-dinner drink.
